Weekly Recommendation - Week #015 - Wrestling

Greetings, and welcome to an exciting WWE themed edition of WEEKLY RECOMMENDATIONS!

Scooby-Doo! Wrestlemania Mystery - Warner Bros/WWE Studios (Film) - Author: Chris
I must admit, when I went into this thing I had filled my mind with the idea that it was going to be shit. Surprisingly enough, I sort of enjoyed it in a bizarre way. It's Scooby-Doo for damn sure, the classic, ghost hunting fun you remember it being, but starring a random assortment of WWE Superstars. It takes place in WWE City (Oh yes, it's one of those kind of films), and has some of the strangest things ever. Ghost Bears? Check. John Cena being overpowered as hell? Check. Michael Cole being annoying as dicks? Extra check. If you like Scooby-Doo, WWE and can live with the idea of Mr McMahon essentially being a supreme ruler (WWE City has it's own law system, go figure) then you will get a kick out of this. I know I did.

I went into with low expectations. Surprisingly, they were met and exceeded. That doesn't make it the best but it's not bad. It's nice to hear the wrestlers do their own voice, especially Vince McMahon (owner of McMahon's Waffle House).
The plot focuses on the humans and dog as they try to solve the mystery of The Ghost Bear with the help of WWE Superstars such as John Cena and Triple H. It's surprisingly well done though. THis isn't very detailed, but hey, Scooby Doo and WWE, what more could you want? Except to live in WWE City.

WWE Anthology - Koch International (Music) - Author: Chris
Now, this is quite a thing of beauty this. I received this as a gift a silly number of years ago, and only rediscovered it recently. It is a 3 disk collection of entrance themes from the Federation Era, the Attitude Era, and the Now Era (which by Now means until 2002, it's kind of an old CD). Most of it is good, its got some classic themes for damn sure. It's hard to recommend this, if you like entrance themes, you will like this, that is essentially all I can say about it. Next question.

WWE Anthology - Koch International (Music) - Author: Darren
This anthology annoys me. I just can't stand that they missed a track, making a numerical error. Most of the entrance music is good and there's something for everyone. Details. Excitement. Opinions.

WWE 13 - THQ (Game) - Author: Chris
While I have had many wrestling games in the past, this is the one that got me properly back into wrestling, and more. This is the game in which the TGOI roster was born, permanently solidifying them in my brain for the longest time. It's just like the many games that have come before it, but with more of a focus on the Attitude Era, which is my favourite time in the WWE/WWF. It's quite good for the price, so I would get this one if you want to get involved in the wrestle games. Also it's THQ's last entry before they went under, so it can be a bit of a history lesson for you or something.

WWE 13 - THQ (Game) - Author: Darren
Ah. The game that spawned characters such as Richard Phist, Truth Boy, Gud 1 and Richard Phist. What can I say? It's got solid mechanics, most models look ok (not Edge) and the Attitude Era mode looks great. Overall, it's really fun. Creating characters and abominations is appealing. So is watching them fight for your amusement and, more importantly, the titles.

Well that's it, I hope you enjoy all this WWE goodness, just as we did and do. PLAY US OUT ZACK RYDER!
WEW WEW WEW! YOU KNOW IT!

Oh radio, tell me everything you know
I like to sing with the radio
I like to play it real loud
I like to drive with the top down
Rollin' like thunder, always drawing a crowd
Every babe's gonna want a piece of me, yeah

I stare into the mirror
I like the things I see

Oh radio, tell me everything you know
I will believe your every word, just tell me so

I see the look in their eyes
I see there's something in their lies, lies, lies,
oh lies, oh lies, in the lies

I like to sing with the radio
I like to play it real loud
I like to drive with the top down
Rollin' like thunder, always drawing a crowd
Every babe's gonna want a piece of me, yeah

I stare into the mirror
I like the things I see

Oh radio, tell me everything you know
I will believe your every word, just tell me so

I see the look in their eyes
I see there's something in their lies, lies, lies,
oh lies, oh lies, in the lies
